In 2013 a design competition was initiated by the municipality of The Hague, called “Open call for stack up building”. The assignment for this competition was to be innovative, creative and executable/feasible for high-rise buildings of at least 30meters (100 feet).
Our collaborative entry and design entitled Baron von Münchhausen received a honorable mention. Our collaboration existed between Jan Bochmann (Jan Bochmann Architecten), Baneke Architecten, consultancy office Van der Weele and ofcourse Bartels & Vedder as structural engineers and consultants. The design principle is a DIY Tower in The Hague Laakhaven West, where within an innovative support structure a unprecedented variety of individual housing forms becomes possible.
