Recycled Park is a propositional project initiated to stop and retrieve plastic waste from the main river in Rotterdam before it reaches the North Sea. In June of 2018, 140m² of Recycled Park has been completed. Floating objects partly created by plastic that has been collected from the river itself and has been recycled into HDPE (High Density Polyethene). The floating objects have a hexagonal shape and can be used for different purposes: planters, terrace or seating areas. These floating shapes are connected to each other and thus form a floating green landscape: a floating park.

This proposal is a initiative of WHIM architecture together with de Recycled Island Foundation, in collaboration with the Municipality of Rotterdam, Rijkswaterstaat (Ministry of Infrastructure and water management) and HEBO maritime service.
